City of West Fork Closure Notice Due to unsafe road conditions, city offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 27.

Notice: Trash collection services will not be operating today. We will provide updates as soon as additional information becomes available. Thank you for your understanding.

As we all prepare for the incoming winter weather, I wanted to provide you with an update of what SWEPCO is doing to prepare. We currently have 111 line crews and 210 tree crews on standby and staged across the service area to respond as quickly as possible in the event of damage or power outages. Multiple sites have been secured for Base Camps across the Arkansas service area and will be activated if needed. Mutual aid will be available from other utilities to address storm damage if needed as well.

We expect impacts from multiple types of weather, snow, ice, freezing rain, and precipitation across SWEPCO’s three-state region as this system moves across the southern states. Our meteorology team is providing constant updates on the weather forecast to help us be prepared.

We ask that our customers download the SWEPCO App to receive information regarding outages and restoration times.

As with any weather event, we encourage our customers to prepare today and tomorrow for any impacts. Friday and Saturday will be too late.

-If you have critical medications refill them now
-If you require medical equipment powered by electricity, have a plan to relocate if you experience a power outage
-If you have a generator, do not use it inside your home or garage. Do not plug a generator into your home electrical system
-Charge your devices (cell phones, iPads, etc.) and any back-up power packs
-Have extra water available

This will be the first weather event with 100% AMI Meter deployment in Louisiana. If a customer experiences an outage, we should know within seconds and also have the information available to isolate where the outage is occurring.

As things progress, additional communications will be released. We will also be pushing out updates on preparation and outage status directly to our customers who have subscribes to these services.

📢 City of West Fork Office Hours Update 📢

Beginning February 1, 2026, all City of West Fork city buildings will close at 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Registration for the 2026 City of West Fork Baseball, Softball & T-Ball (ages 4 to 14) has begun. Signup forms, information sheets, waivers and coaching applications can be downloaded at our website: [westforkparks.com]westforkparks.com or picked up at City Hall (164 N. Centennial). For more information email parks@westforkar.gov. All forms and waivers must be returned to City Hall during regular business hours or can be dropped in the after-hours drop box. $50 Registration Fee with $100 family maximum. Online registration is available at [westforkparks.com]westforkar.com or by scanning QR code below. Payment is required at time of registration. Credit card fees may apply. Sign up today! Deadline is February 21st. Online registration is limited to 4 participants. Scholarship applications not available online.

The City of West Fork offices will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, January 20.

The West Fork Planning Commission will meet Thursday January 15th at 6:00pm for a public hearing regarding proposed changes to the Subdivision portion of the city code.  The regular monthly meeting will follow immediately after the public hearing.  Both meetings will be held at 262 W Main Street in the Court/Police Building.

🚧 Public Notice – Leak Detection in Progress 🚧

The City of West Fork Water and Wastewater Department has contracted with a leak detection service that has two technicians working around town. They will be driving a clearly marked vehicle.

🚨 Water Outage Notice – Northwood & Most of Westwood 🚨 We want to let residents know that the water is currently out on Northwood and most of Westwood due to a water main break.
